Jangoo Dalai resigns rirom Cisco India BANGALORE: In less than seven months at the helm of Cisco India, Jangoo Dalai has put in his papers as president of its India and Saarc region operations. Jangoo Dalai, who has been with Cisco since last nine years, came in place of Rangu Salgame in November, 2006. Cisco has announced that as an interim move it has appointed Naresh Wadhwa as the president. Cisco India has seen a spate of senior level executives leaving the company in the last several months and it is likely that Mr. Dalai is joining a pre-IPO company.

ONGC to swap block stakes with Petrobras BRAZIL'S Petrobras and ONGC have agreed to swap stakes in exploration blocks. To begin with, Petrobras has offered 25-30% stake in three blocks to ONGC in return for a share in three blocks at Mahanadi, Krish-na-Godavari (KG) and Cauvery basins. According to sources, Petrobras has offered 25-30% stake in Barrierin-has, Sergipe- Alagoas, and Santos basins. M&M launches Mahindra Pik-Up in Australia NEW DELHI: Mahindra and Mahindra on Wednesday launched its utility vehicle Mahindra Pik-Up in Australia. The 2.5-litre diesel engine-powered Mahindra Pik-Up has been launched in partnership with Sydney-based (TMI) Pacific, M&M said in a statement. TMI Pacific is an arm of Tynan Motor Group, which is associated with auto giants including Mercedes-Benz, Mitshubishi, Suzuki Honda, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Hyundai, Subaru and Kia. Euro falls against dollar, yen LONDON: The euro weakened against the dollar and yen, as some traders pared bets on interest rate increases this year by the European central bank after comments by President Jean-Claude Trichet. The ECB on Wednesday raised its benchmark borrowing cost to a six-year high of 4%. The European currency fell as far as $13495 and was trading at $1.3503 in afternoon trade in London from $1.3524 late on Tuesday in New York. The currency traded at 163.58 yen, from 164,16 yen on Tuesday. Traders pared bets that the ECB will lift rates to 4.5% this year.

Hyundai domestic sales up 3% at 16,643 units in May NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Monday reported a 3.35% increase in domestic car sales at 16,643 units in May as against 16,102 units in the same month last year. Cumulative sales during the month rose 3% to 26,648 units, including 10,005 units of exports, as against 25,883 units in May last year, a company release said.
